Yacht Chef Jobs Crew Placement ("we", "us") is a yacht chef recruitment and placement service operated by Dean Harrison. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use www.yachtchefjobs.com or our recruitment services, in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What we collect

Chefs / applicants: name, email address, phone number, location, CV and portfolio documents, professional qualifications and certificates, references, and information you share with us during the recruitment process.
Captains, owners & employers: name, contact details, vessel information, and details of the role you wish to fill.

How we use it

We use your data solely to provide recruitment and placement services: matching chefs with positions, presenting candidate profiles to prospective employers (with the candidate's knowledge), verifying qualifications and references, communicating about roles, and meeting our legal obligations as a private seafarer recruitment and placement service under the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (Standard A1.4), including maintaining a register of seafarers placed by us.

Legal basis

We process your data on the basis of: taking steps at your request prior to entering a placement or engagement (contract); our legitimate interests in operating a recruitment service; your consent, where you submit your details through our forms; and compliance with legal obligations under French law and the MLC 2006.

Sharing

Candidate profiles are shared with prospective employers only for the purpose of the specific role concerned. We never sell your data. Our website and forms are hosted by Netlify, Inc. (form submissions are stored and forwarded by Netlify), and we use standard email providers to communicate. These providers process data on our behalf.

Retention

We keep candidate records while you remain registered with us so that we can put you forward for future roles, and as required to maintain our placement register under MLC 2006. You may ask us to delete your records at any time.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, contact dean@yachtchefjobs.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in France, the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
